Texas Holdem Starting Hands

All poker games are usually played with a 52-card deck. When you play Draw games a joker can be used. A wild card or joker is not used in Stud games and Flop games like Texas Holdem. From high to low cards are ranked as follow – Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2. In some games Ace can be the lowest card, but usually it is the highest.

No matter which poker game you play, your final poker hand consists of five cards. In some poker games just like Texas Holdem, players receive more than five cards, but at the end of the game they use five cards to form the best possible hand. Texas Holdem is very exciting and profitable card game, but you cannot play it if you do not know hand rankings. From low to high the ranks of Texas Holdem hands are as follow:

Royal Straight Flush – this is the best possible hand in Texas Holdem and all other poker variants and it is made of Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten all in the same suite.
